Caps for sale is the literature that we did for lapbook this month.

Most of the materials were extracted from http://homeschoolcreations.com/CapsForSalePrintables.html

These are from my own ideas

Naughty Png Png colored the clown's face black.   When I asked him why.   He said the clown ate a lot of seaweed.

Donuts

It's been ages since I last bake donuts.   Memory search me, the last time I baked donuts was before I deliver Png Png.   I bake donuts again this time because Chen Chen had been eating donuts almost every Saturday of late.   Poor Png Png who is allergic to dairy kept saying he can't eat donuts.    I understand his plight.   So, I bake donuts for him.   However, it was a failure.   I baked the donuts too long.   They turned out too hard and burnt on top.  My lovely Png Png said they taste great!   Well, only if he tasted the successful ones, he won't say that.   He was sick of it after he finished all of them.   Otherwise, I will bake again and ensure it is successful

Omnon in Iphone

Chen Chen likes to play with the games in hubby's Iphone.   He plays the game Omnon and uses the application to add on the omnon icon to some photos.

He is a gadget lover since young.

Mid autumn festival celebration

Carpe Diem had mid autumn festival celebration today.   Parents were invited to join in the celebration.

The children acted the legend of Chang e and Hou Yi and Jade Rabbit.

Long ago, there were 10 suns.    Animals and plants on earth suffered from the extreme heat.   Hou Yi shot 9 suns with his arrow and bow.
Jade Rabbit sacrificied himself to become food for 3 immortals.   There is a very good write up of the legends of Mid autumn festival here.   http://www.chinahighlights.com/travelguide/festivals/mid-autumn-festival-story.htm

There were moon cake making, Chinese riddles guessing and games.   I didn't manage to take picture of moon cake making and many games as I had to participate in these activities.

The game of Hou Yi shooting the sun.   Kids were given plasticine with a sharp needle at the tip.

The kids were to shoot balloons that were stuck to the wall.
I guessed a few riddles.

Prize for guessing the riddle right.

The children carried lantern and walked round the center.   However, Png Png did not want to join in as he was very hungry.   So, we had to rush home.

Lion dance?

While I was doing something in the kitchen, suddenly my little Png Png came to my back and hide under my pyjamas.

He followed me all the way to the kitchen, like lion dance.

Very funny, isn't it?

Events at Bishan library

Last week, my boys played WII games at Bishan library, this week they want to go to Bishan library to play WII games again.

A boy tried to teach my boys to play WII games.   In the end, he took over the game from Png Png.

I was attracted to mini artwork cards being exhibited in the library by ATC (Artist Trading Cards).   Artist Trading Cards are miniature artwork  measure 2.5" by 3.5".   A group of ATC enthusiasts meet monthly at Bishan Library to exchange their artworks.  The artworks exhibited here were from enthusiasts as young as primary school students.   Their artworks are simply gorgeous!

Archery

There was a Bhutan tourism promotion by Seiki Travel at Changi airport terminal 3.   Visitors can redeem free archery or photo taking with Bhutan costume.   Chen Chen chose archery.  This was his first time playing archery.   This is more for adults.   It is too tight for Chen Chen.

He played puzzle of Bhutan scenery after archery.
