Father's day gifts

Father plays an important role in every child's life.    My dad is a mentor who guided me throughout my life.    Now that I am a parent myself, he supports me in helping me to ferry my children daily for their lessons.   Today, I made him 

rice bento (for hubby and my 2 boys as well) and his favourite ice cream.

Father's day lunch

My brother wanted very much to try the buffet lunch at Chiso Zanmai at Eu Tong Seng Street.    However, there was always a long queue.   He was unable to get through the contact number to make a reservation.   I managed to make a reservation online through Hungrygowhere  for our Father's Day celebration.   Finally, my brother managed to dine at Chiso Zanmai on his third visit.

The food wasn't fantastic except for the soft ice cream which was finger licking good.   I love it with red bean.

The atmosphere was great  overseeing Clarke Quay.   We could see the reverse bungee.

Mother's day celebration

Last year, we celebrated Mother's day at Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant (莲心素食餐厅) in Quality Hotel.   My parents, hubby and Chen Chen love the buffet offered by this restaurant.   So, this year, I made a reservation for Mother's day celebration in this restaurant.   The business was very good.    They had 2 sessions for the buffet lunch.   I made a reservation for the 11:30 am session. 

However, the quality of the food dropped.   The food was not as good as last year.    The choices were reduced by a lot too.    The first upsetting encounter was the waitress gave us a table for 5 though I made a reservation for 6.   Probably only my parents and Chen Chen were present when they were ushered to the seat.   Hubby was parking his car and I brought Png Png to the wash room.   Even then, my parents told the waitress there were 6 of us and my reservation was for 6 people.   Hubby swop to another bigger table when he came in and found that there was short of one seat and the table could not accommodate 6 of us.   The waitress was unhappy when she found out we took the bigger table and asked my parents if we took the seats ourselves.   My mom told her that we were given a table which could not accommodate all of us.    She said we should tell the waitress.   My parents did but to no avail.    This really pissed me off.

Last year, Png Png disliked the food though all of us loved it.    This year, Png Png took the food better.

Mother's day

On Mother's day, I made bread sushi for my mom.

Chen Chen made 3 rainbow loom bracelets and a wired heart shape sculpture for me.

I asked him to make a rainbow loom bracelet for my mom, one for my sister-in-law.   He made this for my mom.

Lunar New Year

Today is Lunar New Year.   Our theme for this year is stripes with purple color.

I registered Chen Chen with NAFA (Nayang Academy of Fine Arts) to learn arts since he shows great interest in this subject and kept asking me to sign him up for arts class.   Initially I signed him up for an art class held opposite my parents' block.    However, Chen Chen didn't like it after attended the first lesson.   I signed him up for the art class by NAFA as the last resort as NAFA is located in town.   We need to drive there and we don't have any free day for weekend after signing him up for the art class.

Before Lunar New Year, the teacher at NAFA let the students did a Chinese painting with Lunar New Year theme.    This was what Chen Chen drew.    I was very impressed with the picture especially this was the first Chinese painting he painted.

New Year gathering

Tammy's house was renovated last year.   Looking at the pictures she posted in Face book, I thought they shifted to a new place.   As usual, she hosted a gathering at her place but during New Year instead of Christmas this time.  We had pot luck.   I made siew mai.  Look at the spread of food.

The kitchen in the other unit was converted to a dining room.   They bought a foldable long dining table.   Tammy made the stool herself.

Mother's day breakfast at Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem made a very special arrangement for Mother's day celebration.   Mother of each child was invited to Carpe Diem to have breakfast with her child.    Initially Png Png refused to let me go to Carpe Diem with him as he couldn't bear to see me leave after breakfast.   He agreed only if I were to bring him home after breakfast.   I was half hearted to let him go home with me.   I told 肖老师 that Png Png wanted to go home with me.   She told him no.   He had to stay back for lessons.   He had no choice but to stay back.

Mother's day buffet lunch

We had buffet lunch at Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant (莲心素食餐厅) in Quality Hotel in celebration of Mother's day.    This was the first time we dined in this restaurant.   My parents' verdict was finger licking good.   My hubby, Chen Chen and I also love the food here.   This restaurant is highly recommended for anyone who is looking for vegetarian buffet.

My mom likes to take picture with me specially on mother's day.   She said picture of 2 mothers.   I guess down inside her heart flows a strong feeling of her dearest little girl growing to a mother.
