Png Png's art work

Png Png's childcare centre engaged an outside supplier to conduct art lesson.   Initially, Png Png told me that he didn't want to join the art lesson when the director messaged me to check the responses for this art lesson.   When I received the registration form from the childcare centre, he told me he wanted to join the class.

Last abacus class with Teacher Agnes

Tonight is the last lesson Png Png has with Teacher Agnes.    Png Png learned abacus from Teacher Agnes since he was 4 years old.   He likes Teacher Agnes very much.   I like Agnes too.    Initially, she was teaching abacus at block 569.  For some unknown reasons, she left the RC at block 569 and taught at block 741.  The number of student joining the abacus class at block 741 is very few.   This month, there is only 3 students left.   The outsource supplier, ie Agnes's boss decided to discontinued as the fees collected cannot cover the cost he incurred.   Sigh...... only if she did not leave the RC at block 569.
Png Png missed Teacher Agnes very much.   Teacher Agnes missed all her students very much too.   She took picture with her students.

Mother's day celebration

Last year, we celebrated Mother's day at Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant (莲心素食餐厅) in Quality Hotel.   My parents, hubby and Chen Chen love the buffet offered by this restaurant.   So, this year, I made a reservation for Mother's day celebration in this restaurant.   The business was very good.    They had 2 sessions for the buffet lunch.   I made a reservation for the 11:30 am session. 

However, the quality of the food dropped.   The food was not as good as last year.    The choices were reduced by a lot too.    The first upsetting encounter was the waitress gave us a table for 5 though I made a reservation for 6.   Probably only my parents and Chen Chen were present when they were ushered to the seat.   Hubby was parking his car and I brought Png Png to the wash room.   Even then, my parents told the waitress there were 6 of us and my reservation was for 6 people.   Hubby swop to another bigger table when he came in and found that there was short of one seat and the table could not accommodate 6 of us.   The waitress was unhappy when she found out we took the bigger table and asked my parents if we took the seats ourselves.   My mom told her that we were given a table which could not accommodate all of us.    She said we should tell the waitress.   My parents did but to no avail.    This really pissed me off.

Last year, Png Png disliked the food though all of us loved it.    This year, Png Png took the food better.

Wire sculpture

Chen Chen didn't like arts since young.   Probably his school's art teacher last year taught arts differently and inspired Chen Chen to like arts.   Chen Chen requested me to send him for arts lesson.   I registered him for an art class in the RC opposite my parents' place.   He told me he didn't want to continue the art lesson after he came back from his first lesson.   I had no choice but to wait for the yearly intake by Nayang Academy of Fine Arts.    Luckily, there was vacancy for Chen Chen's level.   The slots are taken up like hot cake for younger children.

Today, Chen Chen brought home a cute wire sculpture.   He said he made an angry bird but I think it looks more like Grover.  

Mother's day

On Mother's day, I made bread sushi for my mom.

Chen Chen made 3 rainbow loom bracelets and a wired heart shape sculpture for me.

I asked him to make a rainbow loom bracelet for my mom, one for my sister-in-law.   He made this for my mom.

Lego blocks

I bought lego blocks in Singapore Motherhood forum for Chen Chen when he was very young.   However, he didn't show much interest in lego blocks.   I kept the lego blocks for years and gave it to Png Png as birthday present this year.  This was his top favorite among the presents he received.   When Png Png took out his lego blocks to play, Chen Chen joined in.   Surprisingly, Chen Chen built very nice houses with the lego blocks.   Regret that I didn't capture the previous house he built before he dismantled that house and built this one.

Png Png built house with lego blocks too with hubby.   Png Png's motor skill and ability in building lego blocks is still developing.   Hope he can build something like this on his own soon.



















There were stairs up to the house, an air con on the ceiling and a diving board.   Png Png said there was a swimming pool below the diving board.    Love his imaginations.

Kueh craft

Carpe Diem was doing a project on kueh with the kids.   They get parents involved in this project by requesting parents to make kueh using recycled material.   These were the kueh that I made with Png Png - kueh ko swee, 2 types of kueh lapis and hoon kueh.  My sister in law made mini size suman, a Philippine kueh
