Png Png started keyboard lesson not long ago. I wanted to teach him musical notes, symbols, beats..... So, I chose the lapbook Gabriella's song as the literature for our lapbook for this month.
Our lapbook cover. Initially Png Png drew a fat girl. He said Gabriella is very fat, weighs 100kg. I was very furious. I scolded him and tore the paper and threw it into the bin as he wasn't serious and laughing away when he was drawing Gabriella. I felt bad after I steamed off. In this cover, he drew a bakery shop with a few levels selling different types of bakery.

Png Png got this very interesting activity book from his field trip with Carpe Diem to Gardenia factory. This book was designed by primary 4 students from Montfort Junior's Primary School in 2006 when they embarked on a profject with The Little Entrepreneur. Painting with texture - yarn was used to traced the shape of the fish. This piece of art tests on patience, concentration and focus skills as the yarn kept sticking to the fingers in the process of gluing the yarn to the outline of the fish.

Nayang Academy of Fine Arts Junior Art Department joined School of Young Talents celebrated its 15th Anniversary. There were many fun-filled Art Fair with interesting hands-on workshops.
Chen Chen went to his usual class to make wind chime while I did the quiz for him as he took a long time to make the wind chime. There were art pieces by the students and the questions from the quiz surrounded around those art pieces. No photography of the art pieces were allowed.
I only took picture of the art pieces that my boys made.
Wind chime made by Chen Chen
Another art piece that Chen Chen made in the hands-on workshop was CD case maze.
The first workshop Png Png joined was to make Ocean in a bottle. He was given a plastic bottle to design the bottle and draw sea creatures on a transparent plastic sheet.
After drawing the sea creatures, he cut the sea creatures and inserted them into the plastic bottle followed by some accessories into the bottle.
The teacher in charge filled the bottle with water and capped the bottle. This is the Ocean in a bottle.
The only workshop that both Chen Chen and Png Png joined together is Mini Garden. Unfortunately, the teacher didn't allow parent to go into the room. So, I could only snap picture of them with their end product.
We were at Singapore Art Museum with the intention to visit Art Garden since my boys enjoyed their visits to Art Garden for the past two years. However, we were there to find out that the Art Garden was closed. We had to change our plan to visit Singapore Art Museum instead. My boys were bored over the exhibitions except a butter dance video. This video and the pictures extracted from the video were the art work of an Indonesian performance artist Melati Suryodarmo. The title of the video is "Exergie - butter dance". This video garnered global notoriety for her. She danced, balanced and slipped on 20 blocks of butter laid out in a square across black dance floor. Through this video, she expressed the challenge she faced to blend in to the society during her stay in Germany. My boys found the video funny and love it.
After the butter dance video, we proceeded to sensorium 360 degree - contemporary art and the sensed world
How do you feel today? Pen it down on a thin metal piece and hang it on the wall.
These were what Png Png drew - raining and his dearest lovely mummy (ahem)

The Overview Installation by homegrown artist Eugene Soh engages viewers to look at the world through unusual points of view. Donning one of the sets of modified goggles, the participant's view point is replaced by an image streamed from closed-circuit television. Hubby and my 2 boys took part in this interactive art work but I didn't as hubby said he felt giddy in the process of going through the path. I didn't want to spoil the rest of my day. Surprisingly, my boys completed the "walk" swiftly so much so that I was unable to capture clear picture of them going through the "walk".
Noon-nom by Pinaree Sanpitak - a room of soft, round sculptures that represents female breast. It symbolize reconnecting human relationship like baby nursing on mother's breast. Visitors can touch and be touched by the art. My boys had great fun jumping and lazing on the art.
In the sensoroom, there were activity stations like touching station where visitors use touch to feel what is the item in the enclosed box
Explore the senses of human body. There were books at the other end of the corner for visitors to relax and read.
Continuum of Consciousness by Linda Solay, an art work comprises of crystal glasses set within a darkened chamber, the meditative and multi-sensory installation of continuum of consciousness draws upon the senses of light, sound and smell. Chen Chen enjoyed smelling the liquid from different crystal glasses. He even kept the paper stripe that was dripped with a drop of the liquid.
There is net climbing in Changi Beach. Hubby urged Chen Chen to take up the challenge during our visit today. Net climbing is a good play for children. It promotes upper-body strength, balance and eye-hand coordination. It looks scary to me though.
We spotted these little birds that looks like parrot with snow white feather. They moved away as I went near them to snap picture.
