Costa Cruise Victoria - day 1

The holiday we had end of this year was a cruise with Costa Cruise.   This is the first time we tried Costa Cruise.   I opted to join Costa Cruise because child under 12 cruise for free.   Big savings yeah!

My excited parents wanted to go to the cruise centre early.

Finally, we could broad the cruise.

Our cabins were located at Tosca level 

 

Program sheet sent to the cabin daily. 

 

We stayed in standard cabin.   The cabin is big compared to Star Cruise.   My boys happily exploring the cabin.   They were attracted to the fridge the most.

 

Awhile after broading the cruise, visitors were required to attend fire drill.   Individual fire drill card was issued to each visitor including child.   Everyone had to submit their fire drill card to prove participation in the drill.   I forgot to bring my card along.   A letter was sent to my cabin in the following day to urge me to take part in another fire drill held the next day for staff and those who missed out the fire drill.

The cruise staff went round checking every corner and cabin to request visitor to participate in the fire drill.   Lifts were switched off so that nobody could go back to the cabin till the drill was over.

I am very impressed that fire drill is taken very seriously by Costa Cruise.

 
Time for dinner.  Waiting at the lounge outside the restaurant.  There were musical performance at the lounge.

Time for bed.   My boys climbing up and down the stair to the higher level of the bunk bed.

 

Angry birds Spacecraft in Singapore Changi Airport

Angry Birds made it's appearance in Singapore Changi Airport again.  The theme was Angry Birds Space this year.   There was a space shuttle in the form of gigantic Super Red Bird from Angry Birds Space located before departure immigration (near check-in row 6) in Terminal 3.

An astronaut popped out of the space shuttle with music and smoke effect at specific timing.   Confetti and Angry Birds stickers were scattered out from the space shuttle at the same time.   My boys looking at the astronaunt show.

Many children went round frantically picking up the Angry Birds stickers.   Some even climbed up the space shuttle or got on parent's back to pick up the Angry Birds sticker that were on the space shuttle.

One of the night when we were there, there were Angry Birds soft toys scattered out from the space shuttle.   Crowds snatched the toys and the situation got angry.   So, the event organiser decided to stop scattering Angry Birds soft toys.   My hubby managed to catch an Angry Birds soft toy but it was snatched away by a child and that child ran away after snatching the toy.   A child bullying an adult.  Gosh!

There was augmented reality photography station around the space shuttle.   Visitors can pose for photos with the Angry Birds.  
















There were professional event photographers to snap photo of visitors with a QR code cut-out.

 

Visitors can view their digitally enhanced photo for creation of their personalized animated Angry Birds e-greeting Christmas card online 48 hours later.   They can send their personalized cards to their friends.   Mamma mia!

Tired after a day of playing.   Luckily he could still fit into the stroller.

Fish paste mushroom

I tried a new recipe today - mushroom stuffed with fish paste and mixed vegetables.   Piping out from the steamer

 It was served with brown rice and baked beans

Verdict : Yummy licking good!

The recipe is very simple.  
Ingredients are - off the shelf fish paste, mixed vegetable and fresh button mushroom.   No additional seasoning needed.  

Then just steam for 10 minutes.  That's it!

Award presentation in Gong Shang Primary School

I was in cloud nine when I received an invitation from Gong Shang Primary School to attend award presentation 2012.  



















Chen Chen will go on stage to receive award.  

Blur me, I didn't read the circular from the school.   Chen Chen was supposed to reach school earlier to rehearse the process of going on stage to receive award.  Though we arrived Chen Chen's school way before the commencement of the reward presentation, we were late.   Chen Chen didn't get the chance to rehearse.

He received reward for best in progress in Primary 2 level.  

After the award presentation, the pupils went around to take picture with their teachers and the principal.   My shy boy only took picture with his form teacher Miss Koo and his friends.

Chen Chen and his form teacher Miss Koo.   She is a very good teacher.   She is very patient and very responsive to parents' queries.   When she knew that my father in law passed away, she asked me if Chen Chen was closed to my father in law, how did he feel and whether he needed counselling or not.  She contributed a lot to Chen Chen's progress.

Chen Chen and Ryan.   Ryan is a very clever boy.   He won the best and top 10 %  award in primary 2 level. 

Angry Birds Space Lounge

Changi airport had some activties on Angry birds at the end of the year for the past few years .   This year the area at Terminal 3’s Departure hall Check-in Row 11 was transformed into an Angry Birds Space Lounge offering various play activities for kids. 

Space Adventure – a space-themed indoor playground with fun obstacles, slides and a ball pit

 

Out to Space – with trampolines on a planet for kids to experience the thrill of jumping up and down space surfaces;

Bouncy Balls - an activity area with big bouncy balls and inflatable catapults for kids to ride on it and bounce

 

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Cool Zone - a multimedia station for kids to play the popular Angry Birds Space game on large touch-screen monitors. 

Chen Chen kept telling other children how to play the games but some children dislike his kindness.

Punggol Waterway

I heard a lot of praises about Punggol Waterway, we headed to Punggol Waterway this morning.   

The sun was scorching hot!

Chen Chen couldn't open his eyes under the scorching sun.

We were greeted by many millipedes.  

 

We stayed a while and left.   We don't find anything interesting as we  couldn't stand the scorching hot sun.
